At UGI EnergyLink, we like to make sure our customers are kept “in the know.” In this article, we will provide you with an explanation of the types of letters that you should expect to receive as a customer of UGI EnergyLink.
PUC Letters:
The PUC requires third-party marketers such as UGI Energy Service d/b/a/ UGI EnergyLink to send out a letter 45-60 days prior to their renewal. These letters are sent to all residential customers and to small commercial/businesses that fall below a certain volume. This informs the customer that their renewal is about to expire. There is nothing for the customer to do at this time but wait for the renewal to follow.
Renewal Letters:
Renewal letters are sent to inform the customers of the new renewal price. At that time, they can renew for the price and term that is offered or the customer can cancel their contract via the website, email, and/or the slip that is attached to the renewal offer. This offer is generally open for 5-6 weeks and closes on the 20th of the month prior to the new renewal start.
Second Chance Letters:
Second Chance letters are sent to inform the customers that the renewal offer has expired, but it is not too late to renew for a fixed rate. During the Second Chance, the customer can renew for the price and term that is offered, or the customer can cancel their contract via the website, email, and/or the slip that is included with the Second Chance. This offer is generally open for 5-6 weeks and closes on the 20th of the month prior to the new Second Chance start.
Along with the Second Chance offer, the commercial customer will receive a letter if they wish to receive a custom electric quote from our team. Please note that we currently do not offer new electric quotes to residential customers.
Winter Lock Letters:
Winter Lock letters are generally sent out in September. These letters provide the recipient with the opportunity to lock in for a fixed rate that will start at your meter read cycle date in November and continue through March. This helps protect the customer against an unpredictable winter season. During the Winter Lock, the customer can renew for the price and term that is offered, or the customer can cancel their contract via the website, email, and/or the slip that is attached to the renewal offer.
Confirmation Letters:
A Confirmation Letter is sent to confirm your choice. These are sent out for the Renewal, Second Chance, or Winter Lock selections. If you notice your choice is incorrect, please notify the office (1-800-427-8545) as soon as possible and our Customer Care Team will assist with updating to reflect your correct choice.
If you have not received any of these mailings, you will need to contact the office to make sure that your mailing address and email are correct to ensure you are getting up-to-date information.
